03NOV10- OFF SEASON
With the end of Nationals comes the end of the USAFL season and that begins
our winter break from training. New VP Matt Prescott would like the club to get
together at least once a month during the off season for skills practice and
team meetings. Our first practice for the 2011 season is tentatively scheduled
for 26FEB11 at The Gardens Park. Mark your Calenders!
20OCT10- NEW OFFICERS FOR 2011
The LVFC is happy to announce the appointment of long time Gambler Daniel
"Whiz" Stewart as the new club president. Second year player Matt Prescott will
be serving as his executive officer and VP. Coaching duties next year will be
shared by Mr Kurt Anderson and Mr Adam Smith. Please be patient as we
update the website to reflect these changes.
18OCT10- FAREWELL JEREMIAH!
The end of the 2010 season marks a bittersweet moment for the Gamblers.
Club President Jeremiah Cain is relocating to the east coast and resigning his
position with the team. Jeremiahs efforts to bring footy to Las Vegas and to
grow the sport upon its arrival have been amazing. We are all happy for Miah
and his expanding career opportunities but the loss of his on field leadership
and spirited mentorship is going to have an immediate and deep felt impact on
the club. Good luck and gods speed to you and your family Miah! THANK YOU
FOR EVERYTHING.
09SEP10- AFL GRAND FINAL PARTY ON 24SEP
The Las Vegas Gamblers would like to invite you to our AFL Grand Final
viewing party. This year’s event will again be at McMullan’s Pub, 4650 W
Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103. The Pub is on the corner of Tropicana
and Cameron across the road on the west side of The Orleans Hotel 1.8 miles
west of the Strip. The date is 24SEP10 and start time is 6:00 PM. First bounce
is expected at 8:30 PM.
We advise people to arrive early…this is a really great time and the space fills
quickly.
We will be having a few raffles and there will be a limited number of our
Gamblers “ACES” jumpers for purchase too. All proceeds go towards
purchasing new Jumpers for the 2011 season and sponsoring our players at
the 2010 national tournament in Louisville. This is of course 100% voluntary.
The whole evening is devoted to watching Footy and partying. For the past 3
years we have had 200 + Aussies in the pub to watch the game.
Coopers and Pies are the order of the day.

26AUG10-OC GAME TIME AND LOCATION
We are playing Saturday 28AUG10 at 2:30PM at Charles H. Wilson Park, 2200
Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance, Ca 90501. OC will be playing SD prior to our game
if you want to arrive early.
19AUG10- PRACTICE CHANGE ON 21AUG10
Due to most players being out of town this weekend we are shifting practice on
Saturday the 21st. We are going to meet at 0800 at Lewis Family Park. It is on
Treeline Drive near Vegas HS. The intent is to get there, have a kick, and get
on with the weekend.
18AUG10- NATIONALS
USAFL needs our numbers for nationals NLT 31AUG10. Please get with Kurt
and let him know if you are making the trip this year.
16AUG10- AFL GRAND FINAL PARTY.
It is mid-August and the Grand Final party inquiries are coming in with greater
frequency from all over the world. We need a Gambler to step up and
coordinate this annual tradition. Please get with Miah, Kurt, or Whiz if you would
like to volunteer to plan this years event.
12AUG10- SOME KICKING CLINICS CANCELLED
The kicking clinics on Tuesday and Thursday for the next two weeks are
cancelled. We will pick back up after the 1st of September. Sat. and Wed.
practices are still on like normal.
11AUG10- PRACTICE JUMPERS
We have new practice jumpers for the team. They are low cost and look great.
Cost to players is $12 for two shirts(1 red and 1 white). The intent is to make
them available at practice this Saturday.
10AUG10- AWAY GAME @ OC
We will be travelling to Orange County to play their Div III boys on 28 August.
Time and Location is still TBD. Please get with Kurt and let him know if you are
going. We need to bring big numbers. OC's Div 1 guys will be playing SD the
same day and this is an outstanding learning opportunity for us to watch these
two excellent teams compete.
07AUG10- 07AUG PRACTICE TIME/PLACE CHANGE
Practice today (07AUG10) has been moved to Lewis Family Park. Lewis Park is
on Treeline Drive between Charleston and Sahara near Vegas HS. Time is
1800. The intent is to attend practice then go to Don's house and watch the
Collingwood v. Geelong game.
01AUG10- RECRUITING
We are only about halfway through the 2010 season. There is plenty of time
left to play and many slots still available on the roster. Anybody interested in

01AUG10- TEAM PORTRAITS
As part of the website update we need photos of all the 2010 Gamblers. Please
bring your game jumpers to practice so we can take a photo of you for the
roster. If you are a player that does not regularly attend practice it would be
very helpful if you could stop by for just 5 minutes so we can get a quick picture.
31JUL10- AUSBALL 2010
We would like to host an AUSBALL tourney sometime post season this year.
What we need is a Gambler that is willing to pick up the ball (pardon the pun)
and run with this. If you would like to volunteer to organize this event please

30JULY10- UPCOMING GAMES
Right now we are looking at playing in Orange County on 14AUG and playing a
home game against Seattle on 18SEP. Please stay flexible because things will
change.

27JULY10- PRACTICE JUMPERS
Our new practice jumpers are at the printers and should be available in the
next 10-14 days.
26JULY10- AFL COMES TO PS3 & XBOX
Melbourne based video game developer Big Ant Studios is producing a fully
liscensed AFL game for 2010. The game will feature online play, with Big Ant
Studios stating that they wish to use the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and
Games for Windows - Live to their full advantage. Two players will be able play
either cooperatively or competitively online, with up to four players playing
cooperatively or competitively on the same console. The game will also feature
trophies for the PlayStation 3, and achievements for the Xbox 360. No official
release date has been announced but rumor has it that we may see the final
version around Grand Final time.
